Starsight by Brandon Sanderson

So obviously, this review-in-progress is for the second book in Sanderson's Skyward series. If you haven't checked out the first book (and it's astoundingly beautiful cover) I'd highly recommend it. It's a smooth, engaging read, so much that my wife practically had to pry my eyes from the pages.
“A hero does not choose her trials. She steps into the darkness, then she faces what comes next.”
― Brandon Sanderson, Starsight
Who doesn't love Sci-fi?
I do. So does millions of others. With endless stories created such as Dune, Star Wars, or The Expanse, the possibilities for the average nerd like me stretch as far as the cosmos itself.
A new classic arrives in the form of Skyward and its (it's?) sequels, Starsight and Cytonic. They follow the adventures of a feisty, space-faring pilot named Spensa. While the first book was more reminiscent of Top Gun, the sequel leaves the atmosphere entirely and turns into a thrilling Spy story that answers some lingering questions left by the first book, while generating others. I'll be honest in that the middle sections of the book do drag on a bit, but the ending delivered. Overall, an enjoyable read.
Final review: Not as good as Skyward, but worth the read. 4/5 stars.
